It was very clean and an excellent location
They will nickel and dime you. Want to take a shower? Bring a bag of quarters. Want your kids to play ping pong? Give them some quarters so they can buy a ball.
Be careful as there are thieves there now as well. Last year someone went onto my boat that was docked and went into my then 9 year old son’s and my tackle box and stole around $75 worth of Rapalas, hooks and plastic baits as well as a life jacket.
I’ve been a customer for the past ten years as both a cabin renter and trailer user. It used to be a nice campground but over the years has turned into a trailer park for the locals from the nearby down and out town.

If you are into thieves, pickups with no mufflers and pitbulls this is the place for you. If you value your vacation time and time with your children you should look elsewhere.
The owner is an angry ex cop and if you are not a local and are just there for a weekend you will be cruised by constantly and given the hairy eye ball and treated as if you are doing something wrong.

My wife Eva and I began camping at Deer River Campsite in 1995 after being referred to the campsite by a friend. We are avid campers and 19 years later we have not camped anywhere else!!! We absolutely fell in love with the place and consider it our home. Lots of great memories, a great group of friends and a beautiful mountain lake... What more could anyone ask for???
